Centrally situated agriturismo with spacious apartments
When I arrived at the agriturismo I immediately fell in love with the warm lavender colour on the outside walls. A beautiful combination with the beige colour of the natural stone of the farmhouse! The agriturismo is centrally located between Ragusa and Siracusa. Thanks to its location on a hill you have a 360 degree views of the area of the famous Pachino tomato. Everywhere you look you see tomato greenhouses, cornfields, olive groves and the occasional village. The nearest village is 4 km from the agriturismo, where you will find shops and restaurants. Charming towns like Modica, Ragusa Ibla, Scicli, Marzamemi, Siracusa (Ortigia) and Noto are easily reached by car. Beautiful sandy beaches are about 20 km from the property.
The old farmhouse (baglio) dating from 1800 is built in a U-shape around a central courtyard. In the past, these were the stables for the livestock and the living quarters of the farmers’ families who worked the land and took care of the cattle. The original buildings of natural stone are now beautifully renovated and partly plastered in an elegant lavender colour.
Breakfast is made with mostly local products and fresh fruit, and is served in the garden overlooking the surrounding hills and villages. On the other side of the courtyard is a large swimming pool, with solarium with sunbeds and umbrellas and a bar for a refreshing drink.
The apartments
In total there are 16 apartments ranging in size from 30 to 80 sqm, suitable for 2, 3 or 4 persons. Each apartment is an open space with a sleeping and living area in one room. Each apartment has an open kitchen with dishwasher, oven and freezer and is equipped with air-conditioning and wifi. The interior is comfortable and modern and the apartments have a spacious sofa, large TV, attractive lighting and a modern bathroom. Outside, each apartment has a private garden or terrace with table and chairs.
