A characteristic agriturismo near Lake Como
Personally, I love Lake Como for its beautiful landscape with high mountains and authentic villages along the lake. For watersports lovers Lake Como is a paradise and hikers and mountain bikers can enjoy themselves as well. This agriturismo is a small authentic castle, and is located just north of Lake Como, just two kilometres from the charming village of Colico. It consists of 4 stone houses built on the mountainside. The farmhouse is peacefully located within a nature park and you have beautiful views of Monte Legnone, the highest mountain near Lake Como. I visited the agriturismo on a sunny spring day and was welcomed by the friendly owner Paolo. He does not live on the property, but in Colico, so, if needed, he can be there in 5 minutes.
Apartments
The agriturismo consists of 9 apartments in 4 houses built in the typical rustic style of Lake Como, with grey stone and wooden ceilings. Each apartment has a private balcony, terrace or garden with table and chairs. The apartments are warmly decorated and equipped with oven, dishwasher, toaster and coffee maker. Because the houses are built on the mountainside, the apartments are all different in size and located on different levels. That lends a quaint atmosphere and you feel like you are staying in a medieval village.
Pool and barbecue
There is a small swimming pool (4.5 x 10 meters) in the garden of the agriturismo with sunbeds and umbrellas. There is also a barbecue, and wifi is available. Just 200 metres from the agriturismo is a child-friendly riding school and in the vicinity are several bike paths and a large indoor shopping centre.
