Cosy agriturismo with view of Lake Garda
It was a sweltering summer’s day when I visited this agriturismo. I gladly accepted a cool drink on the terrace before the owner showed me around. One of the first things that struck me was the lovely view of Lake Garda shimmering behind an olive grove, with a distant glimpse of Bardolino.
The garden is a beautifully maintained sea of flowers. That shows the owner’s care and eye for detail. This is also reflected in the decoration of the rooms and shared spaces such as the sun-room, where breakfast is served. Subtle design elements indoors and outdoors make the place attractive and homely. Or maybe the homely atmosphere should be attributed to the owners, who live on the spot.
Panoramic pool
The lake can be admired from the panoramic pool situated in the garden. Every room and suite has its own parasol and sun loungers by the pool. And there is a cosy terrace with pergola next to their own small vineyard. A lovely shady place in which to enjoy the tranquillity and the view during the day. At night, the pergola is lit up by little lamps, and has a BBQ ready for use by the guests.
Lake Garda is of course known for its bustling charm, but one does not notice that here at the agriturismo. Yet, it only takes 5 minutes in a car to get to lively Bardolino (walking to the village is not possible, because there is no sidewalk). Narrow alleys with attractive shops, countless terraces, and a long promenade for a delightful stroll. It only takes a half-hour drive to the north to get to the Lake’s water sports paradise. This is the best part of the lake for wind surfing, kite-surfing and sailing. On the south side of the lake are the charming villages and towns of Lazise, Peschiera del Garda and Sirmione. Lots to see and do in the immediate surroundings of this agriturismo.
The rooms and suites
This is a small-scale agriturismo, It has 4 suites and 1 room. Children under 12 years are not allowed. All of the rooms are equipped with air conditioning, heating, satellite tv, minibar and wifi. Some of the rooms have a balcony with a gorgeous view of Lake Garda.
In short
Cosy, small-scale and quietly situated agriturismo a stone’s throw from bustling Lake Garda. The friendly owners live there too, and love pampering their guests. A lovely place to enjoy your holiday and completely switch off.
