Splendid residence at walking distance from the sea

This is the ideal accommodation for anyone who has set their mind on a beach holiday in Sicily. A dune path of about 300 metres takes you to a fantastic sand beach that is 11 km long. The beach has a pleasant beach pavilion with bar and restaurant, where you can rent sun loungers and a parasol. Besides this, the beach is just beach, so you have lots of space. The residence is situated in between two seaside nature parks, which are both well worth a visit. You can take lovely walks there, and the WWF (who manage the park) have laid out bike routes as well. The residence is the only holiday accommodation in the area, and as the managers of the surrounding area do not issue any new permits, peace and quiet are guaranteed.

I visited the residence in early September, and all I heard was the sound of crickets in the tall eucalyptus trees. The proprietress invited me to return in May, so I could see how beautiful everything is in bloom then, and enjoy the early spring temperatures. 

There are several pavilions near the beach, of which some are open from March to November inclusive. You can have your evening meal in most of them. The nearest village is 4 km away, in case you want to go to a supermarket. Agrigento, with its famous valley of the temples (Valle dei Templi), is about a 30-minute drive away, and the equally famous Scala dei Turchi is not far from the residence either. 

Swimming pool, spa, gym, and electric bikes 

The residence sells its own wines and olive oil, which are not produced on site but one hour away, at their farm in the mountains. The pool is lined with sun loungers, and there is a well-kept garden next to it. Other facilities include a small spa, a fitness room, and a breakfast room. You can rent bicycles, electric bikes too, and there is a large BBQ in the garden that is yours to use for a fee. 

Rooms and apartments

The residence consists of a total of 4 buildings built against the hill where the various accommodations are housed. Every room, suite or apartment has a sea view, but some more than others. In total there are 12 apartments and various rooms/suites. The rooms are divided into standard rooms, family rooms, superior rooms and suites.

Apartments and standard rooms

The 6 standard rooms, the family rooms and the 12 standard apartments are housed in one of the buildings located a little way up the hill. To get to the pool from your room or apartment, you have to walk down. The standard rooms and standard apartments are all on the ground floor and are equipped with air conditioning and wifi and a terrace and balcony. If you stay in a standard room, Italian breakfast is included and is served in the breakfast room in the dependance, close to the superior rooms and the suites. Guests in the standard apartments can also enjoy breakfast for an additional fee.

Superior rooms and suites

The superior rooms and suites are located in the main building, by the pool. These accommodations are all on the first or second floor and all have a terrace with view of the sea or of the dunes/garden. The rooms and suites are equipped with air conditioning and wifi. You can also use the gym. If you stay in a superior room or suite, breakfast is included in the rental price in the breakfast room by the pool, or in good weather on the terrace by the pool.
